University has established very rich Central Library and Faculty/departmental libraries that collectively support the teaching, research and extension programs of the University exclusively for the students of Social Sciences, Humanities, Ayurveda Medical College, Education, Management and Commerce, Polytechnic, and Engineering. The Central Library houses a continuously growing and rich collection of about 180,000 documents comprising text books, print journals, Ph.D theses, master dissertations, CDs/DVDs and online databases. The Central Library of the University in general acquire documents in order to provide different kinds of information to satisfy the informational needs of the university community i.e., the students, faculty members, researchers, and non academic members. Gandhi Vidya Mandir which is the parental society of IASE (Deemed to be University) set up Gramodaya library in 1953 to cater to the needs and aspirations of rural folk. Mobile Library Service and free News Paper service was launched to accelerate the literacy rate of the villagers of 53 villages. To rise to the occasion, GVM also added a new feature to reach out to the rural folk by way of establishing a college of education and library in 1953, which is presently named as BSPM (formerly IASE) The Library has been growing steadily in terms of physical facilities, excellent collection of documents, proper number of trained personnel, and remarkable services accord with Information and Communication Technology. With the development of Information and Communication Technology, the university has felt the importance of computerization of library housekeeping operations such as acquisition, circulation, serials control, multimedia and web based inquiry. The University Central Library uses SOUL, integrated library system software of INFLIBNET (an IUC of UGC). More than 10 PCs are dedicated exclusively to the users for browsing Web-OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) and accessing online databases. The Central Library has a good collection of print as well as online journals. The library also has a rich collection of digital resources i.e.,CDs and DVDs on many subjects. The Central Library is also providing access to E-journals and World eBook Library, a premier academic research database under the aegis of National Digital Library through INFLIBNET
The University has got separate hostels for Boys and Girls. The Girl Hostels are namely, Durgavati, Sushrit, Bajaj and Indira Bhawan for working women with an intake capacity of around 400 inmates. The Boy hostels are namely Pratap, Shivaji, Charak, Nahata, Ambedkar with an intake capacity of around 600 inmates. The hostels have Single, double and triple occupancy rooms with requisite furniture. Some of these are air-conditioned. Air coolers can also be provided in individual rooms. Each hostel has a guest room, garden, playground, telephone, indoor games and sports and recreational facilities. Some of the hostels are equipped with gym. The Internet Connectivity is also available in the hostels. Pratap Hostel has got a swimming pool, too.
Games and Sports:
Personality Development Programme:
The University has a huge infra structure for sports and games. The total plinth area is 4,88 899 sq feet. The outdoor sports facilities include cricket, hockey, football, handball, volley ball, tennis volley ball, lawn tennis, wrestling, kho-kho, kabbadi etc. The track for athletics and a swimming pool are also available. The students can play indoor games like Chess, Badminton, Table Tennis, Carom Board etc. The university organises the Sports week in which inter and intra faculties tournaments take place at times the inter university games are also organized. In the year 2017 the university hosted the National Tennis Volleyball in which the players belonging to 19 states participated.
For developing leadership traits and other qualities the students are encouraged to be a part of various Committees and Councils like Discipline Committee, Cultural Committee, Industry & Corporate Interface Committee, etc. Various clubs like HR Club, Finance Club, Marketing Club, Operations Club, etc have been formed and each club functions under the guidance of faculty members.
Development of Communication Skills:
The university has a Guest-House. The Guest-House has a common dinning hall and 10 rooms, of which 6 are Air Conditioned and remaining 4 rooms are Air cooled. All rooms have colored television with cable TV networking facility.
Group discussion, debates, declamations, quizzes, speeches, situation-appreciation projects and essay writings are organized at regular intervals for improving the expression and to strengthen the confidence and communication skills of the students.
Health Service facilities are available at Ayurveda College. Consultation is free for all students. It provides outpatient treatment both in morning and evening. In addition to it, Physiotherapy and Panchkarma facilities are also available at the Campus. There is a fully operational 100 bedded hospital also, within the campus.
Whenever a need is felt, vaccination is administered to the students as a preventive measure.
There is a Post-Office in the main campus where all postal facilities including saving Bank are available.
A branch of Oriented Bank of Commerce functions at the university campus. Banking service is available from 10AM to 2PM on Monday to Friday and from 10AM to 12AM on Saturdays. ATM facility is also available at the Bank in the campus.
For the convenience of children of campus residents and nearby areas, a Montessori school and two Senior Secondary schools, separate for boys and girls, function in the main campus of the University. This helps in linking university-school as a unique feature of the International standard, with emphasis on discipline, creativity, talent and excellence.
In the Faculty/Departments of the University sophisticated language Labs have been established with aim to facilitate process of improvement of communication of the students so that they can express themselves in a convincing way with confidence
Technology (ICT) Facilities:
The University campus is connected with 1 GBPS internet connectivity under National Mission on Education-ICT Project sponsored by MHRD. Govt. of India. It has provided an opportunity to the campus students to be benefitted from the talent pool of the country. The students are also provided recorded lectures of Senior Professors of renouned institutions across the nation.
Students and teachers of the University also participate in Virtual Interactive E-learning programmes being conducted through A-View.
The Central Library of the University is a member of DELNET and INFLIBNET hence the students and teachers of the university have access to the learning resources available on DELNET and INFLIBNET.
Training & Placement Cell:
The University believes in providing an environment that stimulates and develops the abilities of each individual student, to the best of his/her potential. It supports the students to hone multi-dimensional skills and to make them ready to face the hard realities of the contemporary world. Training and placement cell is meticulously working in this direction with untiring zeal. The Cell is assisting the students in the following ways:-
Providing information about opportunities for training and placements
Interacting with corporate houses for campus placements.
Providing career counseling and helping students in shaping their personalities.
21% students of faculty of engineering who were passed out in June, 2012 have been pre-selected by Indian army, 16% have been selected for placement in Merchant Navy and 20% students have been placed in various software, pharmaceutical and food industries. Training and Placement Cell is also acting as a facilitator in building up a resource base through specific research, related to industry.
